The M/V Skorpios II was built in 1988 at the Skorpios shipyards in Chile, in compliance with SOLAS and IMO regulations and under the OMCS (Overseas Marine Certification Services) classification, Class No. 12823, A1 Ice. Its cabins, bathrooms, and dining area were fully remodeled in 2010. The vessel has a length of 70 meters, a beam of 10 meters, and a draft of 2.87 meters, with a displacement of 1,520 tons. It holds an international load line certificate and registration No. 2567 from the Chilean Maritime Territory General Directorate.
With a capacity for up to 106 passengers based on double occupancy, it features 53 cabins distributed across 5 decks, offering twin, double, and king-size beds. All cabins are equipped with private bathrooms, plasma TVs, and ambient music. The ship also offers two comfortable bar-lounges and a spacious dining room.
